Art of the College Essay

This free consultation (for parents, guardians, or teens) is a great way to have your questions answered, share your desires for this process, & get to know Kate.

You will discover your stories with a brainstorming session. We work together to unearth your experiences and decide which one(s) is most compelling. The brainstorming session is a collaborative, get-your-gears-turning type of session. This helps students with a blank page OR students with several loose ideas to explore. Brainstorming leads to outlining, which we'll aim to create by the end of the session.

This is the first step in transforming your draft into an outstanding personal essay. You are booking Kate's time for this session and will not be present for the evaluation. Kate will review your draft, make comments, show where editing is needed, and include an overview of how to move forward.

Spend 60 minutes with Kate reviewing feedback from your Evaluation, work on revisions, and put on the finishing touches. This session is designed for your Common App essay and/or supplemental essays.
